Are you a great PHP Developer?

Gaming Solutions is in the middle of several casual gaming projects, both mobile and browser-based, in partnership with several large brands. The successful candidates will work on two projects in particular. One project is bringing our large catalog of games to Facebook as part of a partnership with a high-profile brand you'd recognize. The other project is a music-industry project with a casual gaming bent that we are developing for a group of investors.

In a typical day you might be working on integrating the Facebook Graph API, ensuring that key SQL queries scale well or polishing a UI written in jQuery. You'd be working on a team that includes artists, other PHP developers, Flash/AS3 developers and UNIX experts so you are sure to learn new things in many areas.

We are looking for a talented and experienced developer to join the Ottawa-based team responsible for our online gaming platform. We work with PHP, MySQL, Memcache and other open-source technologies and the successful candidate will have strong PHP and SQL skills. Knowledge of probability and statistics is an asset.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a related field
• 5 or more years of professional software development experience
• Experience developing three-tiered web applications running on UNIX/Linux
• Based in Ottawa, or commutable to Ottawa
• Strong written/spoken English and interpersonal skills

Knowledge & Skills:

• Work experience with large-scale web projects
• Strong, proven PHP skills and OOP knowledge
• An understanding of basic software lifecycle and testing principles is an asset.
• Experience in testing web-based applications
• Working knowledge of Windows, OSX and Unix

Work is full-time, on-site, in the Hintonburg area of Ottawa.
